I met a first date here, and ordered an iced alamocha. Despite my lack of coffee intelligence, the servers were friendly and not intimidating. The drink was yummy, the date went fine. It was great to have outdoor seating, though staring at the parking lot is not so great (not their fault, it's just the location). I'll definitely stop by again to try the baked goods if I end up working in the area.

I used to love Texspresso, but over the last couple of years, the quality of their coffee has really gone down. Something is just...missing...especially in the Alamocha. I hope they turn it around soon.
The desserts are still really good, and it's a nice, large, quiet atmosphere to study or concentrate. It's in a nice area of town off of Anderson Lane in the Alamo Village.

Great coffee joint. They have their own special blends for Texspresso and Alamocha. Very large inside with a lot of seating. Outdoor seating too. Free wireless, but I didn't use it. A little hard to find because its in a strip mall, but well worth the search. Close to the Alamo Drafthouse.

The drip coffee is weak and flavourless. The wireless connection is weak and slow. While there are lots of seats inside - because it is pretty big - it can also be kind of noisy - because it is all open.
I like the idea and the location of the place but am unimpressed by the quality.

Tex has never been known for its drip coffee. True coffee connoisseurs will seek out the more delicious Texspresso or Alamocha. Braver souls will down their double-shots with glee. The food items, though not the staple product, will help to tide one thru the day, or compliment a perfect mug of Texspresso in the evening.
Free wireless internet is a definite plus!

I'm going to have to try the specialty drinks. I usually just grab a drip coffee after going to the Drafthouse or Korea House and while it's alright, it's coffee and not that spectacular. What I like most about Texpresso is the back room. The walls in the back have large framed photographs of Congress, facing the Capitol, through the ages. The nerd in me loves seeing the old Victorian buildings that stood before they were relocated or razed to make way for modern offices. How the Tips building was covered up in the 60s with a tacky store front. Makes me wonder who would ever do such a thing. I could go to the Austin History Center and explore their archives for such historical fun, but I can't drink coffee in there.

Alamocha... yum. I stopped here by accident after arriving too early for a show at the Drafthouse across the parking lot. I am so glad I came in! Way too many places make a mocha that tastes like blah coffee and hershey syrup. This place gets it just right! Now if only they would move to the south side...

The Tex and Alamocha are both awesome. The owners are great people to hang out with and just talk sports/ politics what have you..
The place is big and did I mention that they have the best coffee in town!!

My tai chi class is in the same complex as Texspresso and I carry my laptop to class. After tai chi I go to Texspresso to work in my telecommuting jobs. Texpresso has a strange and invigorating combination of atmospheres. First, it is a place to discuss sports enthusiastically with proprietor, Dave, who knows all about Longhorn teams for any year you can name. Second, many people like me use Texspresso as an office space. Collaborators work on real estate deals, consult with clients, discuss ventures, tutors conduct math and language training, all combine to create a busy and motivated atmosphere for many types of workers. Third, if you don't want to or have to work, it's a great place to meet your friends and savor the coffee flavors of the creamy smooth Texspresso and the amazing Alamocha. Texspresso is also conveniently located next to the Alamo Cinema. I sometimes reward my hard work here (I'm writing from Texspresso's free wifi) by looking up the movie times and coordinate a work goal with a movie start time. On top of all this ambiance and caffeine there is a gallery in the front room with a rotating exhibition of local artists' work. A unique Austin business with plenty of character - a great place to bring friends from out of town.

This coffee packs a punch and tastes like heaven. Brewed to perfection. The atmosphere is Austin casual. Love that! If it were just a little closer I would go every day.

The owner of the place claims to start his day with a triple shot espresso, and I believe him. These guys take caffeine intake ... to the EXTREME. But one thing is for certain, their coffee is EXTREMEly good. I'm partial to the double latte - and believe me - it will put a little pep in your step. The store has your usual array of tables and seats, but I'm more of a grab and go ... EXTREME!

My first visit was prompted by a friendly co-worker who described the place as the best place to get coffee in Austin. Not only does it serve up delicious coffee, but the owner, Dave, is happy to have you there.
The two signature drinks are the Texspresso and the Alamocha ($3.85 each for a single). Both are tasty, but if you prefer darker coffee, go with the Texspresso. Sweeter? Remember the Alamocha. I tried the Chai ($3.65), and it is a pleasant, creamy/fluffy drink.
The shop itself might not be the best place to drink your coffee. So after you get your coffee to-go, step out the back door and sip it in the gazebo down the path to your left. The turtles, coy, and lily pads in the pond will keep you company if you are on your own, but it's also a great place to enjoy the presence of your companions.
The verdict: I am not a coffee-drinker by any means, but I'm coming back to this place anyway. Dave has proven that he can deliver a great product with friendly service!

Texpresso is my favorite coffee house in town. The Texpresso is awesome and very addicting. It'll wake you up and get you going in the morning, especially if you get a double like I do. I only wish I lived closer so I could go there on a more regular basis. Weekday mornings Dave is chatting sports with the "regulars", of which there are several, and he will remember you if you come in a couple of times and chat with you too. The atmosphere is not great, but it's a big shop and they have free wi-fi, so if you need to work and have a caffeine buzz, that's the place to be! Forget Starbucks and try Texspresso.

Located in West Anderson village in the 70's style shopping center where the Academy of Oriental Medicine is located. This is little coffee shop is known for its Texpresso - a very sweet and frothy - espresso like caffeinated drink. Sure the interior is pretty bland - with florescent lighting - various art work hangs on the walls as well as some celebrities and politicians that have visited this coffee shop such as Ann Richards - and yes even Republicans such as G H Bush. Negative - the place seems to close at 10 - and its located so close to the Alamo Drafthouse - they reason that people from Alamo wouldn't want to drink coffee after drinking anyways - still the 24 hour Starbucks is located pretty close to here - why give away business - doesn't make sense to me. Also there is outdoor seating - so you can stare at the people speeding through the parking lot or sit down outside closer to the courtyard fountain - much more peaceful.
